Trip tp Seward

Joshua LOVES books, it is so cute he will sit there and look at books and babble on and on as though he is reading them to himself. He actually did really good on the three hour car ride to and from Seward.
We hiked almost all the way up to Exit Glacier, it was nap time so JJ was not thrilled with the idea of walking around in the woods, or being carried. To keep JJ entertained, James gave him a piggyback ride and I kept handing JJ rocks that he would hold on to and then say "ready, set, GO!' as he threw them. We know it is not the safest idea to let your kid play with and throw rocks, but he loves them, and it makes for an easy toy where ever we are.
This is as far as we got on our hike, which we decided was close enough for us. The sign next to us was the spot that in 1998 you could reach out and touch the Glacier, isn't it crazy that it has moved so far away? Other than our hike, we walked around the town and the harbor and looked at some of the boats, and just enjoyed the sunny day. We decided not to go to the SeaLife Center until JJ is a bit older and actually knows what he is looking at, sorry but $20 a person is a bit much, so we will wait until he is a bit older and go on an Alaskans free day (the 10th of every month, for those of you who did not know).

Playing around with Joshua

Carli and Bryce love to play horsey, and of course once JJ saw what they were doing he had to have a ride. He does not do this facial expression too often anymore, but I just love it.
JJ has a new fascination with getting into things whether it is a basket, the bed of his dump truck, or a cabinet. A few days before this photo, JJ was playing in our bathroom, and opened one of the cabinet drawers and then started playing in the shower curtain. needless to say, he tripped and the corner of the drawer hit him right above his left eye. Joshua loves to play with his bowl and spoon, he does not yet feed himself with the spoon, but I let him try while I am feeding him.
For the 4th of July we went over to our friends the Lehnhausen's. It ended up being an absolutely beautiful day. They had their two kiddie pools filled up, so of course Joshua could not stay out of the watter.

There is a really awesome website for ideas and whatnot, www.splitcoaststampers.com if you have stampin' up stamp sets you can go into the gallery and look up your stamp set in alphabetical order and get ideas to use your stamps. I love it!

Our Little Stuntman

We watch this show called "So You Think You Can Dance" and Joshua loves to dance along with the music. Last week as we were watching Joshua started dancing as usual, but then the dancers got down on the floor, and JJ got on the floor, and the dancers rolled around, and JJ rolled around. It was so cute, unfortunately by the time I got the camera out, they had stopped dancing, so this is all I got.

The moment I stopped tapping, he said buh-bye.

Joshua is such a BOY! He was rocking on his Giraffe, and then he was standing and holding on while rocking, and then he was standing up and not holding on while rocking. I could not get a photo because it only lasted a second both times he did it.

I guess it is just to boring to sit on your ride on toys, you have to stand on them to get a thrill.

Messy Fun

Joshua had a HUGE, and I mean MASSIVE blowout while eating breaky yesterday, so I had to wash the highchair cover. So last night for dinner he got to sit at the table, he loved it, and he made less of a mess than I thought he would.
Joshua's cousins came over the other day and he absolutely loves Vyrl, his almost 5 month old cousin who is almost as big as he is, Joshua is always trying to get to him and cuddle him and love on him. Anyhow, I finally got a photo of Joshua giving Vyrl a hug.
I decided that it would be fun to let Joshua try finger painting today. He only did it for about a minute, and he enjoyed it for that minute, but then he could not figure out how to get it off of his hands.
Here you can see where Joshua has tried to wipe the paint off on his leg. For a 13 month old I expected him to get a lot more paint on himself and everything else, so we did it outside, but it really was not that bad, only got one spot on his shirt.
