Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!! I have always loved dressing up for Halloween, and James and I normally do, but this year it kind of sunk up on us. So when our mail order costumes came in yesterday and did not fit, we were not prepared with a back up plan. My mom bought Joshua this outfit that says Baby's first boo. And Joshua's cousin Jack handed me the glasses, which matched Joshua's outfit, and I thought it would be cute. So I put them on Joshua, and he did not know what to think of them, although he left them on for quite a while. He is just so cute in them, even though he looks like an old grandma with his mouth perched the way it is in the picture above.
Joshua is so cute I just had to post another photo of him smiling in his Halloween outfit.
Ok, so I had a few options of what to dress Joshua up as for the ward party we had tonight, so of course I had to try out all of my options. You cannot tell he is wearing red baby long johns, and his hat says Santa's Favorite, and as you can all see is has definitely been a happy boy, and will for sure be on Santa's good list.
The puppy outfit that was given to us by some friends ended up being the winner. He is just so cute in it and he loves Sadi so much I thought it would be fun for him to dress up as "man's/ Baby's best friend." Hopefully next year I will be more prepared, and we will all be dressed up as a family for halloween.

Little Joshua

Joshua is so much fun, he has always been a smiler, and now we can get him laughing so hard, it is so adorable. He can sit up for a while by himself now, and is grabbing everything in sight, but he is very picky at what he puts in his mouth, which is nice for me.
One of Joshua's new things is to suck in either his top or his bottom lip. The first time he did this we were on a road trip, and he sucked his lip so hard it turned purple, which I did not notice until I had wrapped him up in a blanket and taken him out in the cold and then into a restroom to change his diaper, so I thought that he was freezing, but not our little heater.
Joshua has learned to take off his socks and enjoys pulling on them to find these cute little things called toes, they are so amazing and wiggle around, and are just mesmerising to watch.
Saturday morning conference session, Joshua watched with me and was just infatuated with the choir singing. We already knew that he loved to hear us sing, but to hear people who were actually good at singing was a real treat for him. What a little man, zoned out watching TV.

Getting ready for winter

We had not taken a photo of the whole family for a long time, so my sister took one the other day, and we figured you could compair to see how Joshua has grown.
Joshua loves Sadi, every time she walks by he watches her and tries to pet her.
James and Ron (our mining partner) loaded up this morning to go out to the mine for the last time this season.
A few weeks ago James was outside fertalizing the yard and Bryce came over and wanted to help. Anyhting James does Bryce wants to do and tries to do. James picked up a tire to move it and Bryce went over to one and grabbed onto it and grunted for a while trying to pick it up but of course it was too heavy.

Moose Hunt

Sorry it took me so long to get these next photos on. Life flies by so fast, it seems that I have just been stock piling a ton of photos to post on here. You can not see it very well but on the right side of the photo you can see the moose had five browtines (which is a lot, and also means that the moose was older). When Jimmy and the guys went out to the cabin, they ran into a few groups of hunters that had been out for days and had not even seen a moose. So they were pretty lucky to get this one on the first morning they were out.
James loves playing on his 4-wheeler. You can kind of see how deep the water is, one of his favorite things to do it to spray the people behind him.
Almost center stage here in the photo you can bearly see our friend Steve with his 4-wheeler under the water.
Not to say that the boys woke up in the morning and there was the moose, they did drive along the ridge and look and call for the moose for hours before they found it.
Proud hunters with some of the moose (meat) bags loaded on the 4-wheelers. They had to take two trips to get all of the moose and the gear back. It takes about 2 hours one way if you don't stop to pick blueberries along the way.
The cabin that the guys wanted to stay in was taken, so they stayed in the cabin that I call the porkiepine cabin, because almost every time we go there, there are porkiepines inside the cabin. And just to clarify, where they went hunting is state land (also where we have the gold mine/ mining rights) and you can not build new structures, so these are what we call mountain rules cabins. They are cabins that were built before the land was state land, and some have been kept up better than others. The one that James likes to stay in is biger than this one and has camp stoves in it, and enough food to survive off of for at least a month. Mountain rules are leave it clean, restock supplies, and so on.

Joshua is growing up so fast

Joshua just loves playing with his Dad. James was getting ready to go moose hunting in this picture, which explains all of the camo.
Bryce loves to climb on peoples back and play horse. He tried to climb on Joshua's back, so we had Jack lay down and be the horse, which then turned into a dog-pile.
At 4 1/2 months Joshua is now moving into his 6-12 month clothes. He is in the 97% for both his height and his head size, and the 85% for his wieght. He is still the happiest little man, and is always smiling.
Joshua started eating solids this last month, here's a picture of his first bite. He is still learning how to swallow, and it taked a long time for him to eat one spoonfull, but it is so much fun watching him learn and grow.
